ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Moreno Valley Online Academy (MVOA) opened on July 1, 2013.  The online academy offers a flexible and alternative learning experience for students who thrive in an independent learning environment. Students who attend MVOA engage in virtual instruction through district-issued Chromebooks. Students can expect to receive  similar access to standards-aligned instructional materials, credentialed teachers, academic and nonacademic staff, and equipment and internet connectivity.

Moreno Valley Online Academy (MVOA) is Accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is designed to support students in grades TK through 12th who are looking for an alternative option that involves input from parents and students. The benefits of MVOA also include one to one support, small group instruction, highly qualified counselors who address students’ academic, career, and personal/social needs. Students enrolled in MVOA also have the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities through their home schools, which include participation in sports, ROTC, band, theater, and ASB. As part of the Moreno Valley Unified School District, MVOA gladly services all students who are interested in an alternative educational option with all the support and services afforded by the school district.

MVOA high school courses satisfy both California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) entrance requirements. High school students enrolled in MVOA also have an opportunity to take part in Dual Enrollment courses in partnership with Moreno Valley College (MVC), allowing students the ability to earn college credits while in high school.
