Dear Bridges Learning Center Community,

I hope this letter finds you well and filled with excitement for the new school year ahead. As the new Principal of Bridges Learning Center, which encompasses both Bayside Community Day and Moreno Valley Online Academy, I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you. With 25 years of experience as a secondary teacher and administrator, I am deeply committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive.

I believe that education is a collaborative effort, and I look forward to working closely with each of you—students, parents, and staff—to create a community that embraces growth, resilience, and success. Together, we can ensure that every learner feels valued and empowered to pursue their passions and become future ready as they prepare for the challenges ahead.

As a proud parent of two young adults currently navigating their own journeys in the medical field, I understand the importance of support and encouragement in education. My wife, April, who also works for MVUSD, and I are passionate about the impact of dedicated educators and a nurturing environment on student success. We are particularly focused on providing graduation opportunities and supporting students in pursuing college and career pathways that align with their goals.

I am excited to get to know all of you and to build lasting relationships that will enhance our school community. Let us work together to create an inclusive space where every student can flourish.

Thank you for your warm welcome, and I look forward to a wonderful school year ahead!

Warm regards,

W. Mark Hasson, Principal
Bridges Learning Center

American writer and scholar Ralph Ellison once said, “Education is all a matter of building bridges.”  As an educator and parent, my goal is to make connections and to provide support that lead students towards academic success.  The work that educators do impacts both adults and children who we serve each day.  I have worked as an educator for more than twenty years.  SInce joining the leadership team in Moreno Valley Unified, I found that the community of learners and my esteemed colleagues embody excellence on purpose.  It is my pleasure to work alongside our team.
